Giovanni Rosario Cavallo, born in Cerignola, after obtaining a classical high school diploma and a degree in law, moved to Milan.
He worked in the banking sector, published articles and brochures on corporate and banking law.
The collaboration with ALTIS of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan in a microcredit project in Kampala (Uganda) was fundamental for his human and professional path.
After forty years of life in Milan, he felt the need to breathe his native air and, in the midst of the Covid emergency, he returned to the countryside of Locorotondo (BA) with his partner.
The healthy air, the sweet climate, the fantastic welcome they received, gave them serenity, enthusiasm and gave him the desire to realize the dream he put aside at the age of 12, after having written the novel Summer Storm.
In 2021 Giovanni Cavallo published the novel That white building with green shutters, publisher I AM editions.
In 2022 he published, with the publishing house IO SONO Edizioni, the novel Olimpo in Valle d'Itria.
At 77 he started writing again to bring back into prose the new, intoxicating emotions he felt, to exalt the beauties of "his" Puglia and the friendliness of the inhabitants, to crystallize and defend emotions and feelings from the harmful influence of time.
“Is it too late to make dreams come true?” the Author asked himself.
“Many young people are old but many old people never stop feeling young, alive, and not survivors. Convinced that to live well today and equip oneself for the future, it is necessary to know the intermediate stages traveled by humanity, I have tried to represent the different uses and customs, past and present, to stimulate the comparison between ancient myths , represented by Gods and heroes, and current, made up of models, prototypes, characters to imitate or with whom one wants to identify.”
